Checks and Balance

The constitution balances the power among 3 branches. They were called legislative, Executive, Judicial Branch. The framers of the constitution later then created a system of checks and balance, which keep any branch of government from becoming too powerful. The president has the power to veto, or reject, laws that passes, but Congress can override the president's veto with a two-thirds majority vote. The Supreme Court has the power to review laws passed by congress and strike down any law that violates the constitution by declaring in unconstitutional. The final draft of the Constitution was completed in September.
